@FredFriendly: I have developed a special defensive mechanism against stupidity in manga. If I deem something too stupid, but I still want to "read it", I simply skip through all of the "not so important" text, in such a fashion that everything still remains understandable while I skip unimportant details. Scanning through a manga this way is more than 5 times faster and makes some otherwise unbearable manga actually enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

@criver: Thanks for the advice, and I sometimes do that, but with this manga, knowing the mentality (or lack thereof) of the "heroine" makes it simply impossible for me to follow. I wish I had heeded those warnings...
