well, they are emotional teenagers but i feel like trying to stop/restrain him would've been worse /make him go on a rampage lol but there is also that third unconnected party, not sure if they'll try to recruit them or get rid of them b/c of the risk tho

They keep showing us how they're being constantly monitored and graded on their smallest actions, most likely cameras in the surroundings have perfect facial recognition. Meaning his presence is already known to be at the location back during the cafe incident and the current plaza incident. They can just cross check the people who were at the location during both events and the protagonist would be revealed instantly, or at least they'd be down to a couple of suspects...
