I was listening to Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys when I saw this chapter was up. Not a good fit actually LOL. I don't normally listen and read at the same time; it just happened. A very good chapter, anyway. Each page is worthy of being a poster on a wall.

Music manga never seem to work for me.They can write and draw as fancy they want, but in the back of my mind I'll always imagine the characters playing cheesy shit in sibilant voices. I think it was the Beck anime that first ruined it. The pages in the manga made it seem the the protagonist had the voice of a god, but then the anime came out and we got crappy college emo rock with nasally helium vocals.

I still read this, but my whole music manga block combined with majority of the cast being insipidly characterless, has relegated this to the "let's skim unlikable shit first so that I don't have to deal with it later" category whenever I visit mangadex and click the follows tab.

Well, I suppose it's still better than Macross where they attempt to save the universe with idol garbage.

How lucky, clicking on this and deciding to read it. I really like it so far.
The way the sound of music is visually represented in the series is so beautiful. It looks like floating water droplets, and it makes me imagine such a soothing sound.
Same goes for the scribble-like dark thoughts (or maybe they're just bad feelings). The way this manga is drawn may be simple, but it looks lovely.
Can't wait to see the next chapter.

I love how the white bubbles are used to give shape and movement to the music moving from the performer to filling the area around him.

The anime is such a nice adaptation of the manga.
