He will probably end up with probation for not reporting the (justifiable and accidental) homicide to the authorities, taking into account his age. Had he immediately called authorities he would have faced no consequences as he was attacked (not much proof of that except for the testimony of a child though) and the obvious signs of child neglect and abuse.
