Can somebody over-explain the first strip, about the girl who seemed a reajuu but actually was overworked?

Can somebody over-explain the first strip, about the girl who seemed a reajuu but actually was overworked?

Yeah, the last panel shows her alone at school, working to part time jobs, and talking to her mom(?) who seems to be in a hospital bed(?)

Wow... I didn't know that the Japanese word for SEEGS includes a smiley face. ッ

That small letter means "read the first consonant of the letter after this twice". So it's read "sekkusu", and that small letter changes a single K into 2 K.
