Oh look, it's my "favourite" trope. First actual fight in the series with supposedly strong FL fighting by herself, ♪and♪... she gets kidnapped so her knight in shining armour can come and rescue her. Either ML is stereotypically going to save the FL or she's going to girlboss her way out of it and didn't need no man. Either way, very cringe.

"I'm going to meet with someone first," says the heroine.
"...your lover?"
"No."
"I see. If that's so, you may go now," the Prince smiles generously.

Okay but like, am I the only one who's a bit disturbed by this conversation? And mind you, I'm usually the type to melt at protective and possessive love interests. But here, why exactly is he putting a claim on her when she was repeatedly shown to be disinterested at best? And like, what if she did want to meet her lover - would the Prince have forbidden her from doing so? On what basis?

Ughhh, every time the plot is getting even relatively good he just appears out of nowhere to derail the training of her troops, or steal her shining moment, or introduce the oppressive romance aspect we've seen a hundred times before, and so much better done at that.
