She got shot at. Knocked him out, did not kill him. She got strangled and hung by him. Knocked himout again, did not kill him.
Honestly, if she actually manages to get killed by him on the 3rd try, that's fair. It's their mistake for not finishing them off. You already have his gun, just shoot him in the head a couple times.
It's not like they have evidence (no camera records, the firearm is theirs), and they're actually evil guys who look for an opportunity to sexually assault 17-year olds or beat up children to death: they actually deserve to die.
