So he is one of her disciple (why all of them till now are yandere?! lol)

Probably since mages are usually born with a pre-defined poll of mana in fantasy setting and it's really difficult to build a bigger mana poll.
Lottie gave up all her Mana before dying so her mana poll right now must be really small compared to before.
Or second option, it might be the curse that Jeffrey mentioned at the begining of the story.
