Like when this one couple's son was clearly beaten to death with bruises and bludgeon marks but they ruled it a suicide and the parents had to fight for years to get police to investigate it. I think it was his coach who was eventually found to be the murder. They don't really even do autopsies in Japan either (though I believe it's been growing) so we don't honestly know how many crimes are actually happening vs what they're just saying happens. So I can't honestly trust any report that says "low crimes" there, because I've seen how they report. Hopefully they do have a much lower sexual crime rate, but it's probably higher than they let on since Phones are legally REQUIRED to have loud, unmutable sound effects when they do things like take pictures so who knows.

like, I was terrified about my parents finding out and had no easy access to it. It made me crave it more. Same thing with anime really. If you're interested at all, due to how popular the theme has become, there's a bunch of other explicit works inspired by it. Random examples (Read them on SadPanda);

You know, I completely agree with them on like everything here. I think it's good for porn to be freely accessible, but also if there's literally no shame associated with it, some of the magic of porn is lost. I think ideally it's "something you can talk about with your friends but not your parents".

I talked with my dad about porn when i was 14 or 15, can't remember, it was part of an school assignment for Sex ED class

It was really awkward, but looking back i am glad i did, my dad took me quire seriously and made sure to explain the differences between what is portrayed in fiction, reality, the expectations to have once i get a girl friend and get lucky, and how to no think of porn as nothing but fantasies

He talked about the dangers of getting hooked on it, the dangers of thinking that just because something is fictitious it wont harm people, the differences between sexploitation, amateur porn, illegal porn (snuff films, rape videos, revenge videos, sex tapes and leaks), and professional porn, hell there's even worker associations for porn actors, and he even took the time to shove in talks about contraception, and the golden rule of consent and safety

All in all, it was one of the best conversations i ever had with my dad, who ever since then i knew, was a pervert like everyone else, but a responsible one (when it comes to porn), i somehow lost and gained respect for him, it made him more human, less holly, but also to appear like more of an adult than other adults

So I think that talking with your parents about porn is something people should do at least once in their life
