While cold, Luxia's stance on not helping the slave makes sense.
On a semi-related note, it feels more realistic than the standard "I think slavery is evil, but I'm going to purchase this cute slave girl to free her!" thinking, never mind the fact that you've paid the slavers money that'll just help fund catching more slaves.
