Nowadays is a kind of common sense that research takes forever and that any theory could be proven wrong in the future, even the far future.

I think the point is to show us how science works through a long period of time. Dr Stone is sexier tho

Not exactly related but, I watched a video essay about science the other day and seems like there's still a lot of resistance against new ideas, specially in physics.

In the XIX century there was the ether for explaining light's movement and today's there's dark matter for explaining miscalculations on gravity.

And it's still very much about monism and the search for one truth explaining all things in nature, when there's evidence that the "laws" of physics change depending on the scale (atomic scale, surface-earth scale and astronomical scale)

Thank you for coming to my TeD Talk.

Hi, didn’t see your post untill now because I really don’t frequent the forums here.

I kind of agree with that, but overall people are for sure more open minded (based on my extremely limited research on science in this time period ish). I think one of the main issues as to why people have a hard time accepting new beliefs now is because schooling in general doesn’t tend to explain enough that science and our understanding is always changing. Theres also the fact that corporations will bury research with doubts if it affects their profit margin (I.e, grains causing obesity, leaded gasoline, cigarettes etc)

Doubts are bad for business lol. The schooling experience may vary depending on a lot of circumstances, so you're probably right even in universities' teaching.
