Yes he is THE Iguchi Tatsuya.

Because he's still a grade schooler here, the series is more focused on Numata Akashi (the red haired guy). Tatsuya looks up to him and wishes to beat him someday.

Also this guy below is Tatsuya's childhood friend. He's still a part of Tatsuya's gang in Drop so a Drop reader most likely can figure out who he is

It's actually a solid yankee manga through and through (it's a canon prequel to Drop and OUT) so it's unfortunate that the scanlators didn't do it from the beginning. But hey it's better than none at all. Thank you for the work
