Wow, when it finally came time to sort things out they sure got it taken care of fast.
IMO Spain is awesome. Barcelona's got lots of cool stuff (although I hate the famous Las Ramblas), and Gaudi wasn't just amazing aesthetically, he seems to have been a really great guy too. But there's amazing things all over Spain. Madrid has awesome museums and stuff and just feels comfortable, Toledo's cathedral is the most jaw-dropping I've ever seen, just leaves the Notre Dame in the dust, the Alhambra in Granada is the most incredible place I have ever been to, Seville, Cordoba, Salamanca, all awesome. And there's chocolate con churros, paella, roast suckling pig, and more awesome castles and walled towns than any other country in the world. The Catholic stuff in the north is great, the Moorish stuff in the south is great, the remnants of Roman stuff are great, it's all great. The people mostly seem really nice, too--with a few exceptions of course, there's gonna be jerks anywhere, but on average.
