Thanks for the chapter! I remember seeing people on discussion boards thinking that Meltier was maybe a demon king, but it's nice that he's just a commander. There are so many mysteries surrounding this series, glad to get a clue on Meltier's history.

Poor Meltier. There was no option where he could save them, but abandoning them is still incredibly painful...
Pretending to really believe what he said so the soldiers would follow orders, and taking the blame for the decision. All painful.
