Oh lord not bickering with the messy roommate. It reminds me of one of the worst roommates and worst people I ever knew. I submit their crimes:

• While I was on a business trip, they strung clotheslines across the bathroom and hung wet dyed clothing across them like a 1900's city street. When I came home and really just wanted to take a shower, I had to remove their mess first.
• Over a year they took my tupperware to grad school and left it, unwashed, in their studio. I had to buy new tupperware several times.
• They went to China for a two-month residency, but made no plans for how to pay their share of the rent. I was forced to cover their rent or get evicted.
• They brought home all my tupperware, unwashed, and left it in the sink, before leaving on that trip to China.
• When they got back they wrote me a check for the rent they owed me. It bounced, and I got a bank fee.
• Roommate and I were teaching a workshop for high school students. On the morning of the workshop, roommate called me. She was in a hotel room, in a suburb 45 minutes away. The previous night she went to the bar, two guys took her to the hotel to do coke and bang. She had no money and needed me to come get her. I did, but she was still fucked up and was in no condition to help with the workshop. She showed up two hours late. Thankfully I and a different grad student were there to cover for her.
