When I see all these prophecies leading Batista astray, I always remember Masamune's words about how you should keep a bird's eye view over these things. Inevitably, these prophecies made Batista into what he is now..
It depends really. Most of the time its:
Dont warn him
Why didnt you warn me
Warn him
Stop warning me
Ultimately it was his choice and feelings, even with the sad backstory, its all on him.

I mean, he's probably aiming for points in his past that are crucial, it's not a random pick. But I agree with the general sentiment, this is just more meh writing. Literally everything about this has been done to death in countless manga, from "bad guy wants to change his tragic past" (bonus points for "his lover's death drove him mad") to them "travelling through another person's formative memories". Trope after trope, it's all just so derivative. Which is why this hasn't picked up any momentum at all, it's not even in the top 20 on mangaplus, which is just a terrible score for a superpowers battle shonen (or seinen of we wanna pretend it's one). No one wants to reread shit from 2012 except the 12 year olds who think it's new.

What I love about Ishida Sui’s work is how he doesn’t make it obvious who’s good or bad. Everyone has their reasons, and it makes you question what’s truly right or wrong.
