Oh, so from my understanding; the sect that MC is/was a part of, was the sect that is usually shown to be evil and trying to take over the world in most other comics of this vein. Essentially we're reading a comic about an evil villain trying to join back his evil group so he can be with his evil lord.
So in a way, this story is a little tragic, as the instructor has just given away his sects greatest secret fighting techniques to their most hated rival.
It's also quite likely that the master that MC is trying to get back to plotted all of this, and may be even trying to betray MC, or has already done so. His illness may have been a means to manipulate the MC.
