Reading this chapter kinda gives me flashback since it did happen to me before irl but with different situation, it gives you the worst kind of "really?" feeling that you can't just shake off

Same case for me, It made me break some friendships I thought were going to be "for life".
It hurt a lot, but I eventually moved on.

That being said, that guided me to connect with my current very small but close group of friends, with who I have shared a lot of amazing experiences in the last 10 years now.

Yuu is pure as pure she can be, she's totally not wrong, she asked why Umi can't join but those 2 friends said Umi were busy.

Yeah sure, that's why I mentioned that Yuu and Asanagi were closest friends. It seems that they weren't then, because Yuu would (or should) be the first one to know that Asanagi is busy.

Let me explain my point.

Usually, when there is a group of friends and if there is a really close friend of yours in it too, then when you get invited by others (separately, by private message etc.) you would probably ask your closest friend if she/he is coming too.

I mean, sure, maybe they don't contact each other (Yuu and Asanagi) at all outside of random meetings, like they don't text stuff etc. But It feels so wrong to me. It feels like Asanagi is the one that actually treasures their friendship.

Yuu and Umi indeed bestftiend, but they kinda got set up by their friends. Considering Yuu and Umi didn't use phone much during middle school so there's no way they contact each other. It's just the timing sadly. But yea I get your point tho

She genuinely didn't know, I haven't read the LN in a while so I may be misremembering, but her sharing this story will actually be the first time she has found out about it and why Asanagi doesn't associate with the other two anymore. She was under the assumption that she'd be there and when she wasn't she had asked about it. She then was told that Asanagi was busy as something came up.

I don't really get this. The other girls want to be friends with Yuu because she's so good looking that they can brag about it.

Okay, sure, doesn't really make any sense but whatever.

But going by that logic, why wouldn't they want to be friends with Umi? They haven't given any reason. Isn't she supposed to be almost as good looking as Yuu? (Very subjective opinion, but that's the freaking title of the manga). Wouldn't having two good looking friends be better for "bragging" than just one? Not to mention that Yuu and Umi are already seen as a package deal.

This really just feels like forced and artificial drama. Unless they don't want to be friends with Umi because of her personality. But then again they already established that they don't care about personality, only looks.

So far this doesn't make any sense. Maybe it will in the next chapters, but right now it just seems like the author is forcing Umi to be isolated so that her friendship with the "loner, loser, gloomy" Mc makes sense. There are better ways to do that though, but whatever 🙄
