What I like about this is that they are already an established couple & there won't be like other stories where they learn like each other then fall in love at like the few chapters before the end. That was purged from here & I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand it saves people from having their brains melt after seeing it go downhill especially with the decimal chapters. On the flip side it is a piece of history that it was so well loved in the beginning then the author decides to scorch it to the ground as you watch it happen live as a reader while also being able to make subtle references to it that newer readers might not get. Such an interesting & unfortunate manga.

What a strange start. It's like the author took several romcom tropes, mashed them together, and started the story in the middle. Take the popular GalXOtaku, ALSO make them step-siblings, ALSO skip the "getting to know each other/will they won't they" phase, deport their parents to remove chaperones... Do we get to know the characters or do we just assume they are amalgamated clichés?

I'm wondering what this story is about. Is it them finding a way to tell their friends and "come out" at school? Are they going to graduate and go to college and find jobs? Or is it a gap slice of life where they act like strangers at school, then they go home and he feeds her and they flirt? There has to be some angle that gives the story teeth. It's only one chapter so Im'ma let them cook (Hey-ohhhhh!) but this is either genre-bending or a slow-moving car crash.

One final thing. Given the set up, in my mind there is zero chance they aren't banging. Two unchaperoned teens are doing what their bodies tell them to do. If the author doesn't acknowledge this, my disbelief is suspended.

They aren't. I'm pretty sure they still didn't kiss. It's Japan and manga. Manga is now almost equivalent to herbivore men/loser/doormat content sadly.
I know he is cooking (all tasks related to cooking including shopping are on him). Even if they are doing 50/50 on cleaning and laundry it's a major disbalance in relationship.
Next point, him cooking while she hangs out with friends, on occasion it's okay if it's systematic? It's a problem.
Her wanting to keep their relationship a secret? A red flag and potential unneeded drama. <- + Overused stupid troupe.
