"I'm in liquidation" could be completely misconstrued :worry:
I did some searching on the term and it basically means "the process where a company is shut down", although I do understand how it'd be interpreted in another way.

In the context of a company department, they probably meant "I'm from Acquisitions." In a company, the Acquisitions department is usually the area in the company where they strategize or outright buy more assets for the company, among which are usually other companies that are in the process of liquidating their own assets.
