Genuinely one of the best fighting stories I've read. God in a Box getting his happiness back and the Abyss staring at the wall are hilarious, same with Pure One meeting his ex-idol and the inner turmoil.
Gonna put some character/backstory predictions below:
The woman who warned about Roach is his therapist, which is why she knows about his general awareness condition.
Why: There was a throwaway joke where Roach tells .44 he should have seen him before therapy, so am guessing that will be extended.
The thing that Tomahawk and Beatdown were surprised about at the end of Pistol Foot Pete vs. Florida Man was that Pete used the Elixir breathing technique that Violence Incarnate had.
Why: There's a panel before Pete does his final barrage where he breaths "HMPH" and looks somewhat different.
Also explains why Violence Incarnate knows of Pete, VI probably saw Pete compete on the tele or something similar and thought that Pete was at least as strong as him as a result. Also explains why he was surprised Pete wasn't more well known.
Roach tried to die by attacking Bill Clinton. He was put into the tournament by the president who promised he'd meet someone who could kill him.
Why: His charge in his background profile was something like storming the capital/attempting to overthrow the government. Might also be he tried to go against the president of Mexico, but I think Bill being an established character makes his involvement more likely.
Pete was in Afghanistan when he was arrested for drug manufacturing.
Why: He mentions a specific type of poppy from Afghanistan and that he got arrested for "gardening" even though he had asked permission. I'm guessing he asked some nearby folks and then the government got mad at him. As for why, am guessing he traveled the world looking for fights similar to VI until he settled down there and took up a life as a farmer.
Roach has at least two personalities inside him. The scared one causes him to have manic strength all the time similar to Florida Man. That or he is biologically modified to have a strong body and heart beat.
Why: Kinda obvious given context clues that one wants to die and the other doesn't, and the one that doesn't can take control. Am guessing it was a defense mechanism from living in the red jungle (forgot the name and too lazy to go back). Further reason, author does take a lot of inspiration from Kengan (It's all connected lmao) so having someone with two (or more) alter-egos seems possible. Since Beatdown hears the heartbeat during their fight and it's talked about again this chapter, it is probably why Roach is so strong (i.e. pumps so much blood that recovery is much faster, also explains why the woman(therapist) says to just give him a bunch of food in a tube).

You know something I was wondering about was, what if the person who completed the myth of the Elixir wasn't VI rather it was Pete. What I mean is that possibly along the way when Pete was traveling he picked up gardening, when he saw a ruined temple he decided to fix it up and maybe plant some flowers, and somehow he found the breathing technique and VI just managed to figure it out somehow. So it's possible that Pete has a true or complete version of the breathing technique that can be used constantly rather then temporarily
