Haru-chan probably heard that lemons actually have a lot of sugar in them. That's the only reason why I can imagine her being so determined to try one.

No way! I never expected a manga to ever involve these moments

I remember watching kid's first experience with lemons on YouTube. These video capture some of the innocent first time experiences of a kid.
I always find them fun to watch

It reminds me of when my niece was 7 or 8 years old, I was some chocolate butter cream frosting for her birthday cake. She sneaks up and sticks her finger in the bowl. "Hold on sweetie, that's not done yet." She gives a smug look as she digs in. She didn't realize I had only added the unsweetened chocolate to the butter but not the sugar. It was pure bitterness. I'll never forget the look on her face, it was priceless.
