It's pretty funny that due to all the imported exotic cars, we are mostly seeing drivers sitting on the left side, despite this all happening in Japan. Since this a car manga, the mangaka actually can keep that in mind. In random manga not located in Japan, the mangaka sometimes forget the difference in one way or another (driver on the wrong side or driving on the wrong side of the road).

What? The man lost his cars because of an overinflated ego and because he couldn't priorities right (his pride over his cars). Not because "his dream wasn't real". In a way he is a dirty mirror of our MC. Something which could have happened to him out of desperation and that I find quite scary.
