While some of this is petty, it seems to me that the MC was just dumb and did a lot of bad sh*t with good intentions...

But everyone thinks he's just evil....

Yeah he seems like a well-intentioned clueless guy, no clue where this story will go though.

From the description I initially thought he was getting access to another realm to freely explore and kinda live in both but seems it's going to be more like being put into certain scenarios and having to complete the specific mission as a given identity

"Road to hell is paved with good intentions"

From what we see so far, it's not that he did bad shit with good intention, but he do things fairly with no excess for the greedy and selfish. Like constantly buying an overprice apple at a reasonable price above the market price, and the shopkeeper blame him for ripping him off.

He did everything with fairness and good intention, but people are too greedy and selfish for him. He has no idea how to read between the line and how to give away profit for others in a fair trade to foster amiable relationship with such a greedy and selfish people.

Master says he want to live in countryside, and MC did do that, but apparently Master is just being modest and actually want something grand.

For the items he borrowed, they probably says along the line "This treasure born from the heaven and earth, only the fated should have it" about the treasure that appear or is in their sect to others. Knowing that it is ownerless, he ask to borrow it , but those sect probably says it to look righteous and to deter others from taking it with the pretext that they can't take it since it shouldn't be owned by anyone while deep down they already consider it as their own since it's in their sect. Then MC came to "borrow" it since technically no one owns it, so they got a grudge to him for "stealing" what should have been theirs.

Junior sister poisoned him just because he focused on cultivation and didn't care about her beauty, hurting her pride in the process.

The sweeper mad at MC for being diligent and efficient so he got no scrap even though MC uses the most treasure.

My point is:
They are all selfish and greedy, hence why they hate MC for not catering to their greed. This could have been avoided if he spare some time to socialize. But in the end, it's all about how they don't care about how good he is at cultivation or how kind he is for all the things he did, they just care about the benefit they "should" have gotten from him.

Master didn't want anything grand.

He wasn't expecting anything from him at all. He was just saying he wants to live in peace.

Putting him in the country side means he's telling his master to die.

He himself doesn't realize that and the master didn't realize he took the words too seriously.

And because of his power, he ended up accidentally bullying his juniors.

And because of his stupidity, he ended up making way too many enemies and stealing stuff that he mistakenly believed was free for anyone to take....

If he never made so many enemies for the sect and made them misunderstood as an evil sect, his master probably wouldn't care...

It's shown in later chapters (before I dropped this) that he makes these kinda misunderstandings again with good intentions...

MC is basically just an idiot with a huge amount of talent and because of that bad combo, he causes a sh*t ton of trouble without realizing it.

But because he's talented, everyone assumes he must be smart.... so they believe he's actually evil and doing this on purpose....

And because of his actions, his entire sect now has way too many enemies and his master's reputation is in ruins...

Though the groundskeeper and his junior sister are both 100% just petty garbage....

But because he made so many mistakes that rightfully deserve punishment, that petty stuff is also just counted against him....
