That was kind of lazily written chapter. Family was never mentioned (I believe it was said that he was orphan) yet instantly he has loving one. Police instantly tells criminals, who ratted them out. Cripple is basically unconscious and to everyone it seems that he failed cultivating, yet his father kills him and goes after MC as if he is responsible (he is but no one knows that).

I mean, only three things happened in this chapter and all of them were horribly written. You need to have a limit to this horribleness.

And why aren't the cops using guns? Usually guns still hurt cultivators until they're super advanced in their cultivation, so I don't understand why they're not using them. And even after that, I've seen better stories introduce the idea of anti-immortal/cultivator rounds. Would make sense in a world of technology and cultivation...

@KamiKira00 I think I remember the MC saying he was an orphan...but we never actually seen if that was true or not. Remember, just because a character says something doesn't mean they're not lying. Also...the cops didn't say anything, the father found papers on the one cop that told him who did it...that's also why he's going after the MC...because he was the one on the paper(along with the FMC)...he doesn't know that MC cause his son's current condition. As for killing his son...he felt it was better for him than to fall in the cop's hands. Did you actually read it? :/

Actually, after reading that part...seems like the "sister" is actually an "onee-chan" type childhood friend...their parents were close, but all four died in the first invasion. He's an orphan, but the "onee-chan" childhood friend seems to be taking care of his financial worries.

@Koremitsu_Arita They're most likely investigators and/or detectives...and it's not uncommon for them to be carrying the results of their investigations on their person...at least in fiction.
