I don't know when meta became such a huge thing. The game I played before FFXIV was Ragnarok Online before all the cash shop trash came in. A lot of people made fun of me because I maxed out my assassin's cloaking skill to 10. You'll see on gamefaq the "pros" giving their take that it should stay at 3. But then..someone was breaking emps left and right with EDP before the guilds guarding emp room can find out. Next thing you know..a lot of people were maxing out their cloaking skill. You might think this is really obvious stuff that the higher your cloaking the faster you can move in that mode but back then we didn't have the options to reset our skill points so they prized their points and used them on something.

Play how you want to play. Don't let your guildies or any other "pros" tell you otherwise. You're the main character. We are just side character's in your stories. Screw meta. Experiment and theorycraft instead.
