Turbo granny: Schlong.
Creepy box dude: Groin.

Sempro: A proud, underpaid convenient store clerk.
Cop-san: I'm no coincidence.

It's been a long time since our last serious, awesome battle scenes! (I'm really, really looking forward to the anime this fall!)
Now, come, Zuma's heart-pulling back story...

I've had this issue with Demon Slayer with how they're introducing the backstory of the enemy seconds before they get decapitated, and I suppose Dandadan does it too but surprisingly it doesn't bother me when this manga does it. Probably because it doesn't read as a last-second heartstring tug here and they become real characters afterwards.

Fight felt more disjointed than usual to me, but I suspect that's partly from reading on mobile. Too bad Momo isn't awake to watch her boys dick-punch each other over her.

Deceased younger sibling as protective spirit is something we've all seen before, but knowing the author it will be equal parts tender, terrifying, and riotously amusing

The cop is his older brother!?! I said it before and I'll say it again all characters are important no one is a one off or background character

Good observation! You got me thinking. (Disclaimer: I like Demon Slayer. It's a good manga.)

At first, I also agreed with you on this. But then I thought some more. And I realised, these are two different things, two different approaches and settings.
For Kimetsu no Yaiba, getting "decapitated" after learning their backstories showing how far gone they had been. Most of the characters getting killed or died this way were beyond salvation. Death was their release and/or relief of guilt.
For Dandadan, the characters are opposite of this. There's still something there for them to continue on, to mend things, and to be better.

I like both! (Manga, perspectives, philosophies, storytelling styles, arts, etc.) And I really like how your comment made me think! Thanks!

Ah, I just remember/realise something too. By showing their backstories before their deaths, the stories humanise them and honour their histories, journeys, feelings, and who they had been and might have been. I think Gotouge did a fine job with this. One can easily turn these into sob stories, Gotouge didn't. They make it poignant and full of emotions.
