I do think these kinds of stories where "alas, my bad end is guaranteed because the world was originally a game with limited choices" really have the protagonist fall into that logic trap too often. It makes some sense when the protagonist is braindead like Bakarina, or when there's physical evidence that the world lashes out when you don't do the story right (Beware the Villainess, Please Bully Me Miss Villainess), but when you're a reasonable person in a seemingly normal world? That should be cleared up the moment you go into an out-of-bounds area, let alone outright befriending the game's protag.
