For all her prodigy ability Alice has been reduced to an observer of the fighting between insanely dangerous individuals. So many fakeouts this chapter with Alice guessing the plan and DV guessing what she was guessing.
Shin hitting his instrument with his thrown swordwand has a little bit of that Indiana Jones shooting the sword dude energy with it. He was just standing there looking like Barney and his next and only move was to throw his weapon at the crazy guy having a performance expecting some elaborate battle plan. Didn't kill him though.
