okay so they DEFINITELY started dating or he at least confessed with a positive response when he was drunk. hyoshin was probably annoyed last chapter bc gwangchae really likes him and he can’t see it (which he really can’t bc he’s duuuuuuumb)
This chapter screams that they're actually dating but I wonder if the author gives us a major plot twist that it wasn't simply like that lol Excited for the next chapter!!
hyoshin doesn’t have a right to be upset at him when she’s the one who didn’t tell him what she found out! he’s clearly clueless, come on. she’s only caused more confusion and distress.
I haven't seen any indication that Gwangchae likes Saebyeok as anything other than a low-level college friend, let alone liking him romantically. Actually, the only indication of whether or not they are dating that she has shown is that refusal of the couple offer by the waiter, and her response was certainly nothing close to what anyone would expect of how a girlfriend would act.
Oh. Joy. A compilation of the worst romcom tropes in one chapter.
-Character knows information but protagonist won't press the issue just because? Check.
-Protagonist is asked to define the relationship with love interest, and instead of ignoring the question like a normal person, gives some sort of vaguely insulting answer? Check.
-Protagonist refuses to talk with the love interest and solve the misunderstanding out of randomly convenient bouts of cowardice? Check.
Lack of communication is not amusing. It's way past misunderstandings, none of the characters actually talk to each other... is there even a point in their interactions?
I'd be surprised if Saebyeok positively confirms what happened that night when he was drunk before the penultimate chapter in the series at the earliest, if not the final chapter, itself.
I know the miscommunication trope is a bitch but with all due honesty try and tell me you don't know a friend or family member who never talks things out and constantly jumps to conclusions.
@FredFriendly lol i meant "really" as in "actually" and i was half joking about him being dumb (bc really this would all be solved if he just talked to her directly) ^^;; i don't really think we can call them low level friends, though, seeing as they go out to eat together at least three times a week and got into that gifting "competition" a couple chapters back. i can't imagine spending that much time or money on a regular, casual classmate which may be why yeomyoung questioned them in the first place. gwangchae hasn't been super lovey-dovey with him, but she may be following saebyeok's lead and doesn't seem like the type to be mushy when in a relationship either way.
@BCS if you mean fair to the other commenter i agree that gwangchae isn’t really acting like a typical girlfriend! i was disagreeing with the idea that they’re low level friends after hanging out so much and explaining what i think would be the reason for her to act more like a close friend rather than an s/o if it turns out they are “dating” ^^ if you’re talking about saebyeok, i don’t think he’s wrong for being confused, but he should just talk to her at this point since he wants to know how she feels and no other way has worked
Honestly, Hyoshin has no right to be angry at Saebyeok, not after she refuses to tell him what Gwangchae said and instead gets pissed off at him, which deepened his anxiety and exacerbated the problem. If you refuse to get involved with others, you don't hv the right to get angry at them, either.
