Oh, then after a few chapters making readers believe that Shuuzaburou is strong and noble, in one chapter we're being shown how much lies under the surface. THAT is the point of this chapter, if anybody wondered. It's safe to assume that in the author's vision (or in the novel this manga is based off) sentiment was the same.

Pure insanity, malice and broken human beings chained by their caste and by bushido.
