No, it's defo there, there's some chapters where they purposely make it glaringly obvious too. I don't think it'll ever be really overt with it, at least until the endgame, because this isn't a romance comic, and the moment Debby decides she loves MC, that's the main hook (beat her in games or earth is destroyed) of the series gone.
