God damn it, this made me cry, some times in life you can feel worthless, having someone, anyone even if it is just a friend can help make that pain less awful and this just touched that specific feelings of feeling broken by daily life.

Haven't felt this sorry in a while for a character. Dang, that guy's abused by life itself. I half expected him to jump off the platform after getting mugged a second time, but fortunately he didn't. Feels bad because he hasn't really done anything wrong, and his life is so crappy. The woman's life is crummy, but her troubles mostly come from her own actions so I couldn't feel much sympathy for her. I had hoped she'd treat him better, but this oneshot is over.

Re-reading this I realized the first 2 pages are set in the present and the rest of the manga is an extended flashback showing their origin story. They became a couple some time after the last page, which connects back to page 1. OK, this is better.
