Those "tenets" Jia Xin mentions could also be translated as "demon's ways of survival" or "demon's dao of survival" - a list of guiding principles for living as a demon.
There is a Chinese term / word used for people who eat without paying or take food and leave without paying. I considered using "dine-and-dash gal" in English, but that one is restricted to those who visit cafe or restaurant and isn't suitable for street stalls. "Food thief" or "freeloader" didn't feel right, so I had to be more eloquent. Street stall owner who's been chasing after Jia Xin yelled that short Chinese word instead of describing "leaving with food without paying".
