Mining is way more dangerous than just about all jobs, not just smithing, so I don't think that's comparable. Being a skilled blacksmith has always had rather high prestige as well, especially in Japan. Mining, on the other hand, was where you sent slaves, criminals, and people who couldn't get any other jobs.
I was a prep cook for many years. With all the knives, cooking surfaces, glassware, and often heavy crates of ingredients, it is a much more dangerous environment then most people think.

A smithy would be dangerous in similar ways, just to a greater degree, as would working in a mine. And while true most kitchens are nowhere near as dangerous as a mine, that doesn't mean a gas leak explosion won't kill you any less dead then a coal dust explosion in a mine.

Just living in a house could kill you if a termite infestation weakens the structure so the building falls down, so if that's the route you want to take the argument, anything is dangerous, so there's no meaning to calling anything dangerous. And you're more likely to die on the way to the job than in a gas leak explosion anyway.

Oh yeah right, this random toddler has a spartan warrior mom, whatever.
Did author forget that this is just some vr videogame? Why does everyone in the party have combat training

If your kitchen is dangerous thats a lack of protocol
If your mine is dangerous thats just how it is you cant change that shit
food services isnt even in the top10 for workplace injuries or fatalities

Two reckless disciples going on an adventure together! It's cute, heartwarming, and will definitely not go wrong whatsoever.

Because

Other worlds are real

Did you think Crim is a fake vampire? Teehee~
Is that even a spoiler? I think the story so far has been more than obvious about that, like not even trying to hide it at all

MCs mom is a vampire in real life, we already saw that, and stuff relating to her is in the game, and they keep hitting us over the head with the "wow these npcs sure are realistic man"
"VR game world is actually real" is like the most obvious twist imaginable at this point and this story isnt subtle about it at all

That doesnt actually relate to what I said though, these kids all coincidentally having irl combat training is just convenient bs
Did you stop for a sec to remember Hina's not an adult?
ok and

So let me get this straight. The forging hammer is too heavy for her so she plans to make a hammer from the same material that the swords are made from, for it's light but strong impact properties.

Won't this just make a shitty hammer that rapidly destroys itself in the process of forging? I don't even know if she would be able to make 1 sword before it becomes useless.

And on another note, how does she plan to make the hammer? She can't forge it because then the problem is circular. Does she intend to carve it?

I mean, neither Freya, Lycoris, nor Frey have any combat training. Frey is a gamer so he has that but nothing else.
Crim used to play an extremely hard combat simulator game (which her parents gave her as a way to distract her from her vampire instincts) and that's why she's OP.
