This case is a top 25 case easily. What I like the most about the case is its strong premise.
- Shinichi making a deduction mistake?
In the entire series, whenever Shinichi makes his final deduction, he almost always get everything right. In the rare moments he gets wrong, it's usually for something 'minor'. I think the most serious deduction error Shinichi made is when he came up with the wrong conclusion to the original's Kid riddle when he was just a child.
- Shinichi revisiting an old case that he solved.
Shinichi solved countless cases pre-Conan but those cases rarely if ever gets talked about by Shinichi himself. To see him actually do it is a great idea go showcase how much Shinichi has grown since then.
- Someone hating Shinichi and wants to ruin him.
I think it's natural for Shinichi to gather some enemies( besides the BO) for solving crime that even the police couldn't solve by themselves. Since Shinichi is a popular figure, there's got be someone, like a friend of a culprit who hated Shinichi for getting their partner imprisoned. So to see Shinichi dealing with a hater is refreshing.
And there are a few other concepts that I like about the case that I won't mention due to brevity but overall, these elements that I've mentioned makes this case a standout from the rest.
