it's now kinda obviously shows how braindead it is that majority of people don't know the extent of mc's power. he literally carried hundreds of people through a dungeon, saved a group(his clasmates??) from a distortion caused by a great demon/demon god, became a one-man-army when dealing with abyss soldiers, and surprisingly they still don't know him or even his total strength?
you can't stop people from talking especially not only is his class is unique but no one seems to know the concept of necromancy and that in itself is a topic worthy of gossips and table-talks. not only that but he's a man that you need to be wary of so the head of every county should have already gave some order under them specifically to not fuck with mc
at this point it looks like author/artist is just trying to stall some content since they apparently can't fathom what to do with a famous OP mc.
although with this tourney, this is probably now gonna be his debut as a high profile cultivator so we'll see how the author will keep up this now braindead trope of his
