Hunh, a love commune cult in historical Poland? I'm not sure if that's accurate, but they've certainly existed... And usually end poorly after the leader turns out to be a manipulative fraud... Be careful Sarka!
@lenovoaxioo The Hussite Wars took place during the early Renaissance not the Dark Ages. Also, the Dark Ages weren't nearly as dark as Victorians wanted people to believe
It's actually Czechs/Bohemia. My history ain't best when it comes to medieval times anymore, but we never learned about Hussites in great detail, while I have heard of them from other books set in similar time/location.
Poor Gabriela has been corrupted by evil Adamites to get fucked and inseminated by a bunch of older men... Same for our dear Šárka who got abused by men older than her again. This was so difficult to read...
@Skepticium Exactly. This chapter puts into contrast the sex act between Albert and Elizabeth and the sex acts between the adamites, which are supposedly more consensual. One is a source of suffering, the other is a source of joy.
Though these adamites have their own drawbacks, as exemplified in the next chapters. Ie, they are druggies and fanatics.
