Time to stop reading. The story is bad; it's miserable. What decides these characters' fate is plot, not realism. Yet, they kill them off as if sensibly. It's a farce.
The female warrior would never have succeeded (gone that far) realistically, since, as a woman, she'd lack enough strength to perform too well with a weapon like a sword in medieval times. I saw people mentioning some female spear wielders in japan and viking shield users, and, obviously, fire weapons--makes sense that they'd be useful with a long bladed weapons against poorly armored fighters, or serve as "meat shields"--but they'd not be beating men in duels, that weren't naked.
