Thanks for doing this series! Ever time there's a new update, I clear my schedule. I'm super excited for Managing Director Shima.

Congratulations Kewl0210 for finishing another Shima manga!

That 4th wall break was hilarious

@Suben and @Kewl0210, thank you for the insight. Two more questions.

1. Is there any recurring tropes that's noticeable if you read throughout entire series?

2. Is there like a general consensus amongst the fanbase on which manga is the best, worst or most controversial? I know for Detective Conan, most Western fans I know considered the Vermouth arc to be the best in the series so I'm curious about the opinions for this series.

Thank you both in advance.

The worst arc yet, is probably the start of the wine arc, that was kind of a drag to read, he really goes deep into the wine business, but it is not like you can skip it either since wine becomes a core toolkit in Shima's negotiating and political maneuvering, but it could have been shorter and more streamlined

The car race arc was quite forgettable but it was engaging, i don't think it has had any major pay until now

And for most controversial i guess the SEA arc because of the sex tourism that Shima's coworkers were doing while they were stationed overseas, because the company wanted to take advantage of being able to hire cheap labor and cheap materials from countries in a political and economically vulnerable state, so there's a sexual, sociopolitical, and economical exploitation factor and the criticism of such practices involved?

I mean Shima is not really in a position to critique, call out, approve, support, or deny what others or his company do, or how they do things, all he can do, is comply with company policy, and just do his job as a salary man, at best he can comment on things as he sees them from his personal opinion, and try to not be directly conplicit on the worst aspects of them, and if he does at least offer people a fair deal given the circumstance, and avoid to engage in bad practices, but at the end of the day business is business, and i suppose his neutral stance is what makes the arc controversial

Shima is also kind o a sex god and playboy in denial, every arc he gets a different woman jumping on his dick without him trying, because he is a nice guy, that just so happens has a magnet on his crotch, and he also stopped aging after he turned 25, so it is always funny how somehow out of nowhere he ends up getting a new woman for every arc, and they are always fine with just keeping it casual withot any major commitment (that way he is free to get a new one next arc, without having any conflicts with the previous ones!)

Thank you for the write up. Seeing the volume covers of Shima, he reminds me of Bruce Wayne so hearing him act like a playboy and sleeping with a bunch of women isn't surprising. Does Shima commit to anyone when he gets older in the sequels?

I don't think Shima will go steady with anyone, he has some long time relationships, old flames show up again every now and then, and the author hints at one woman being the main girl, and indeed there's one girl that has way more pull and impact in how the company can operate over the others, so her sheer amount of resources can earn her that main girl title, specially since Shima keeps climbing the corporate leader, so his partners would need to have some way to stand next to him in status (that said Shima doesn't discriminates, he will fuck a random waitress if the plot requires it, and that encounter will somehow lead to him saving the day)

But committing to one woman would kind of get in the way, because being a sex god is also one of his political toolkits, in a way he did sleep his way into upper management, his penis has earned him deals, secured him positions, saved and ruined careers, opened and closed huge international businesses, saved whole industries even

Shima is a "free spirit" kind of guy, flexible on both love, occupation, and thinking, so commitment would look weird on him, plus one of his "strengths" or better said, convenient traits, is that since he doesn't has to answer to anyone but the company, the company can freely send him anywhere at any time to do any job they would require of him, which keeps each arc full of thematic variety in the business being covered, if he goes steady with any of the different girls that would hinder the structure of the story

Plus if he has to consider not cheating on his wife or girlfriend each time a potential sexy corporate spy shows up (to be used by Shima or against Shima), or if he has to completelly refuses the advances of the local barmama with direct ties to the local management branch of whenever he is being trasfered to, that would make things way harder for him

Thank you for the character analysis. It's funny to hear how Shima's playboy status managed to keep the lights on at his workplace and he saved hundreds if not thousands of jobs because of it. Truly the savior of his company! I figured maybe Shima will aged out being a playboy as he gets older, but I understand it's an integral character trait.

Once again, thank you for taking your time to answer me about this series. Like I mentioned before, I'll check out this series in the future. It will be nice change of pace from the usual content people normally see me reading.

Yeah it is actually funny how he literally can change the fate of an international company with his dick

However despite me calling him a playboy, he is not really a "playboy", he is a very humble, hardworking man, who keeps to himself, he is modest, never brags, he is not flirtatious nor boisterous, he is not even a romantic

But it so just happens... he is also a magnet for women, despite Shima not really wanting to, they keep throwing themselves at him, he never really goes after or pursues after any one woman, which in fact is part of a middle arc, there's a love triangle or love square in which all 3 women get angry at Shima for not being more proactive and never taking the initiative, so they try to move on, and some kind of do, but they can't really, because no one can fuck like Shima, apparently once you taste the Shima Kosaku you never go backu, so they are always thinking about going back to Shima even if they can't be the only one for him
