It's kinda of a sad ending but I enjoyed it and it's great that Karin had a good attitude about it, this is a overlooked classic.
It is really strange though, to think overpopulation was such a concern 30 years ago, and now Japan and many places around the world are heading towards population collapse, the future people may have over-corrected. Can't help but think of a continuation where DNA Operators are sent back to reverse the damage they inflicted.
