Don't let the confusing beginning throw you off. It's one of the better reverse harem titles I've read-- kept me guessing right to the end.

*finishes reading*
Without giving spoilers, lemme say a potential reader shouldn't expect actual horror, romance or fantasy from this manga. It is, however, goth as hell.

It's enjoyable read but no substance for me. Though i like FeMC because she's not usual self insert MC imo. Male candidate just so so, and like usual reverse harem, there's few sexual assault. i enjoy female character in ch 1 more than the true FeMC.

When I jumped in, I didn't even know this was a harem manga, and so when I found out, my disappointment with the story was explained. This story is a pretty average harem manga; the only interesting part is the fact that the MC is supposed to be poison to living things, however this is a neglected fact but for one death in the story, and it mainly acts
as a limit on her life span, which could be done with any illness, like cancer.

Overall, pretty average and I wouldn't recommend reading it unless you're in the mood for harems or you've only ever read Sword Art Online, in which case you may find something interesting here.

I find it insulting for certain people to label this as a harem.
The Poison Princess never had ANY romantic feelings for anyone besides "the one". Empathy and kindness is what she needed. In a place devoid of it. That is why she was so attached to dear Shicca and curious towards Kait. They expressed emotion, they socialised with her, they empathise and treated her kindly. They treated her like a human being. Not a monster, a tool or sexual object. Certain individuals never treated her that way. What they "felt" was more about themselves and their needs and not hers.
These are broken people (teens) twisted and controlled by the choices and actions of the adults around them. The King had his good points but he was not a good father. His final actions completely destroyed his family. He abandoned them to madness, debilitating and isolating loneliness piled atop of the heavy heavy burden of running a country. As King he broke his promise to his people and his allies. By abandoning all his responsibilities he kick-started all the damage that was to come. Hell, his actions as a soldier during the Coup had long lasting consequences. Even the Old Man's (traitor) actions created future problems. The Diviner added to this trauma with her bullshit "prophecy". All it did was haunt/stress these children with cruel meaningless labels that pushed them toward making "heavy" burdensome choices. It had nothing to do with cursed children. Also the Diviner didn't give two shits about the previous royalty (responsible for many things) who took the water away from other kingdoms causing a WAR. Where was the prophecy for THAT! She made me so angry.
This is a tragic story about damaged tortured people trying to survive an ugly twisted life that they were either dragged or born into the best way they can with a bittersweet ending.
I tried to be vague as possible to avoid spoiling things for others. Though I'm not sure I was completely successful because my passionate opinion on certain events was seeping in.

This, this is masterpiece in term of tragedy romance where the tragedy itself is inevitable.

This is just so confusing. Starting off with a character that dies immediately, constantly going back to this prophecy with no real payoff, and having the MC die at the end with no substance to it.

Damn, I've been waiting for someone to pick up the sequel to this for 3 years😩. I need to know what happened afterwards😭😭. Yes, I know, I'm a glutton for punishment; I'm expecting the sequel to be just as sad as this one which will definitely not stop me from reading it and possibly crying again.😑
