This is going in a more wholesome direction than I expected lol.
It does look like he lives in some sort of company apartment, but it's truly strange that ML had to move to so far away. Did he get promoted right before MC joined the company and lost the apartment benefit because of that? Could that be possible?
ML could have voluntary decided to move, but it's strange that he'd choose to go so far away when he didn't even have to share before.
For now, I assume author just wanted an excuse to get ML in the house and visit often, but didn't think too hard about it. Or maybe ML is lying about the 2 hours distance as an excuse to visit and stay often...
