It's not like Kyou's crush on her mom-buddy-cop-girlfriend is mutual so it's an easy trade for Kiku. Kuchinawa is less intimidating now that I recognize he's just another bratty type who can't help but trust Ms supercop. He feels more like a sketchy delinquent trying to charm a knight than a devious playboy.

He's got no chance against Kyou's weirdly wholesome mom fetish though. Not that I expect the series or Kyou to be confident enough to lean into the relationship.

That said, BW is written kind of simple and OP at this point. Aside from dissent in their ranks, this feels like one of those missions that will come down to plot armor. Maybe even favors from old enemies if the author was really worried about cancellation when writing it. Hopefully I'm wrong.

You know this part of the plot about competting cyberpunk megacorps is getting more interesting than the whole "for some reason there are humans with super powers", i hope it keeps getting more messy. A little more lore about the powers and world could be cool too, but i get the manga is more interested in the two lead girls doing harboiled stuff.

Good chapter, but can I just say that I can't get over the constant use of full names rather than just given or surnames? Like, do you really think the characters are so bland that the readers will forget who's who? Maybe in another series it might be necessary, sure, but it's wholly unnecessary here. I've put up with it for 50 chapters, so obviously it's not a deal breaker, but still.

Complete shot in the dark here, but since it seems to mostly be happening with Kiku and Kyou (from memory, I could be forgetting some significant examples), this may be an Assets Versus People thing.
