In theory, in a vacuum, there's nothing really wrong with this ending. It was pretty obvious from early on that the solution to their conflicts was just a straightforward confession, and that's what we got in the end.

But the story put no effort into actually building up to the solution. The main character conflict for Minami was that she valued their friendship too much to do anything that she considered might jeopardize that friendship in some way, and Yuzu's was that she was hung up on the past and stuck in denial.

The last few previous chapters were emphasizing these traits and doubling down on them, not working through them or tearing them down. And then in this chapter it just drops them out of nowhere to give us an ending. Very unsatisfying. We needed to either see Minami work through her fear of losing her friendship with Yuzu and/or Yuzu come to accept the Minami that's before her now, rather than the one she pictures in the past. Ideally both. An ending with a simultaneous double confession from them would have been cute and very fitting imo. Ah well.

Holy fuck this chatter came up with something decent in 5-10min compared to whatever the fuck went down in those awful 28 chapters.

If a hetero romance went on for 28 chapters and for 27 of them the fmc did NOT show ANY signs of interest but in the finale they get together and end it there, the readers would crash out

I mean, I already read the original a month ago (well, I'm by no means fluent yet, but I managed to get the gist, with a good helping of looking up things in jisho), so I already knew the beats and had time to think about it.

And yeah, I'm disappointed. They dragged out the confession to the dead last chapter, ending it where a real story should being.

But I'm kinda glad it does end here, because they learned nothing, nothing at all. It's really frustrating. They still can't communicate, don't kiss until a month later, getting inside their heads and questioning the relationship. They're not going to last another month, and I'm glad we're not going to see the ugly end.

I really loved this manga at first, both Yuzu and Minami were so adorable but it went downhill so bad. And especially with other Childhood friends to lovers manga doing all that better, it's hard to forgive anything here.

what's funny is that i put this on hold like a third of the way through a while ago, it still wasn't worth it to finish this but you get what you get i guess. art's brilliant but man the fucking story went to shit. it's even worse that it glimmered with hints of its prime than only being a log on the toilet faithfully pulling you in to drag you down murky toilet water. maybe i'm being too negative

An axed ending to end all axed endings, which, if it was actually axed it was for understandable reasons. Sometimes you just drag things out too much and they become a bother and this was one of those times. I certainly don't hate this ending but the build up to get here after the last few volumes of unending misunderstanding false starts.

It was still cute, and I don't hate it, just wish we'd have gotten the relationship sooner and had more time with them as a couple, rather than an almost kiss "haha what do you mean" again.
