Is "unlocking a door just to get in it for a minute or two" really such a great event? Or it's because she's still learning how to use the key?

Thank you for the translation!

I really like the two new librarian characters! And the prince seems to have accepted that being close to the silver saint equals adventure. :)

elves fun time! Also, sure seems to me a lot of sussy people of late. But feel Rachel is the sus one. Something about her response seem sudsier to me than the priest or the merchant

Also how dare she try and leave cute snow leopard behind

Gee, I wonder who could have stolen the book? Maybe it's the merchant who was chased out almost immediately? Surely it can't be the priest that suddenly became quiet and was doing something suspicious near the door.

Thanks for the TL.

Still weird they allowed outsiders to see underground archives.

The priest is the red herring and the masked people rear their ugly head again later in this still ongoing arc.

That merchant got too happy and clasped his hands when he saw that damn book.

There are some red marks on some of the pages, I wonder what they are. Dirty scanners maybe?

I presume the key has some magic in it too otherwise the lock is opened just by making something the same shape. Jam some clay in, let it set, there's your mold. Won't be long until Mary's fears are proven right, it's adventure time.

Oh no... who could've stolen it... Surely not the other 2 people who went in for the first time in a generation and heard her say it was a legendary very valuable one of one copy of a book. Ot more specifically the greedy merchant who looked reaaaal interested in it and likely planted some some of teleportation device in the room when being pushed out of it.

They look like some sort of auto fill tool's (i.e. Photoshop Content Aware tool) artifacts to me. Especially since on p. 20 where the magic effect around the book is a bit messed up where the text got masked off. That and on some pages the raw source watermark at the corners of pages where some were only partly masked off or left as is which could be the source of the red artifacts since they look like a similar shade of red.

Double red herring?
