Big kaijuu but no big monkey? Why can't Gohan pull off some shenanigans by researching ultra instinct and spirit control and get his tail back. So many cool transformation designs could have been made with the help of that fur.

Piccolo forgets his own ability to grow big? The fact that the author forgets it is one thing. But for the character himself to admit he forgot too, that's too much to believe for me.

IMO it's a bit of meta humor. There's been so much stuff since Dragon Ball that there's got to be a hundred case of people nitpicking that a particular power or item wasn't used.

Also, in OG Dragon Ball Krillin forgot that he had no nose while fighting Bacterian.
