Her mom ( who was named Kara according to chapter 1 )
Died giving birth so she never did anything wrong (other than possibly marrying Dad I guess? )
Her dad / the man who "raised" the girl before Chapter 1 might still be alive.
But more importantly, he might also not even be her dad in the first place or not related to her at all.
As far as I remember, he never claimed to be related to her at all. I would have to double-check chapter 1 tho.
But yeah, he would 100 % try to use her for his own gain or get some sort of "compensation"

Oh I have nothing against her mother, I only meant her "father".
