It is! I can't recall at the moment if they reveal his name in the next chapter, but there is absolutely no ambiguity after the first few pages.

And this whole series is just old school vibes. I really hope when the prequel is done that the author and artist do a sequel series that takes the heroes on a journey to the underworld to find dai and fight velzar... Because you bet your ass I'll be translating that one, too.
