And she's right in wanting to figure out just why he hasn't surfaced before with powers like that. Even though he's "just" an obscenely powerful summoner who can control divine beasts without repercussion, people like that don't stay quiet for very long, so when they do, it's usually because there's some kind of conspiracy going on.

I reckon it wouldn't be too difficult for her, at this point, to find out the official reason: his magic veins were all damaged and sealed until very recently. Whether she could ever believe that, is another question. Especially when Akira's old man is supposed to be a genius magician.
